Why we build this way
Hungry Nova Labs was born from the belief that people deserve software and infrastructure that work for them — not against them.
Before founding the company, Matthew Salinas served in the United States Air Force as a Cyber IT Specialist, earning the rank of Staff Sergeant (2018–2025). Military systems taught a simple standard: what people depend on must be reliable, transparent, and built with purpose — not designed to extract value from the people using it.
Today we run dedicated enterprise hardware in Atlanta and ship App Store tools that prefer your device and your Keychain over someone else’s cloud — password workshops, nutrition scanners, and more as we ship.
Our namesake is Nova, a Dalmatian whose relentless, creative hunger became the company’s energy: hungry to solve hard problems, hungry to build things right, and hungry to prove that privacy-first software doesn’t have to be predatory to be viable.
